Remote Data Backup

What is it?

Remote Data Backup is a service which backs up business data securely and is aimed to protect business continuity. PCM install a software application onto a server and/or individual work stations. This allows selected data to be sent to PCM’s secure servers automatically, as frequently as is required.

Our staff are on hand to ensure that this transition happens successfully and to provide reports each time the data has been backed up. Consequently, any errors can be rectified promptly, ensuring that full data storage is preserved. The backing up of data, however large, is fast and efficient.

Why does my business need data backup?

Data loss can severely cripple a business. Indeed, 93% of companies who lose their data for more than ten days due to disaster, file for bankruptcy within one year. Common methods of backup are associated with multiple risks.

 These methods rely on the effective operation of the hardware, which is subject to degradation over time and at risk of disaster such as fire, flood, theft or loss.

What do PCM offer?

PCM offer a fully managed and secure service whereby data is copied to secure servers, maintained by PCM. The data is encrypted and only accessible through the use of a password, ensuring that business information remains safe and confidential.

PCM provide reports to inform clients of the status of their backup, including how much data is being stored, and confirmation that the backup has been successful. Should a backup not be successful for whatever reason, the PCM team will inform the client to resolve any issues and ensure a successful backup.

Should data be lost, PCM are on hand to aid the recovery of the lost files, folders or large data sets. Many clients find it easy to restore their data themselves through our online service. However, when large data sets have been lost, PCM are pleased to assist the retrieval of data. This can usually be undertaken promptly and with minimal disruption to the business.
