Server Disaster Recovery
The Service
Traditionally, comprehensive disaster recovery has been a cost prohibitive service to most businesses.
PCM Server Disaster Recovery is a unique and innovative service that has been designed to bridge the gap between data backups and the process of data restoration in a fully operational system.
This service ensures that a business can continue to operate in the event of a disaster, with minimal downtime as the whole operating system is backed up, in addition to the data stored within these operating systems. Server Disaster Recovery acts as a complete replication of a server including operating system software and data.
How Server Disaster Recovery Works
The service is set up by installing software on your chosen server/s and scheduling backups to a storage device provided by PCM. The data from this device is then replicated to an offsite server maintained by PCM. All of the replicated data is encrypted and password protected to maintain security.
In the event of server disaster, restoration can be carried out on the original server (if it is in working condition) or on a new server provided by PCM. PCM can also facilitate the use of a new server temporarily, should it be problematic to use the original premises.
Maintenance of the service
- The backups are monitored daily, generating functionality reports.
- PCM carry out checks to ensure that files and data have not become corrupted in order to allow the service to run without problems.
- Every three months, PCM conduct a test restoration in order to verify the success of the server replication.
